I am Marie Collier, the Clerk to the Governing Board at Hindley JI, through a Service Level Agreement with Wigan Council Governor Services. I have been the Clerk for the Board since September 2018. My role is to provide professional advice on governance legislation, constitutional and procedural matters and support the induction of new Governors. I provide effective administrative support to the Governing Board and its committees, working with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors to set focused agendas for the meetings, ensure meetings are quorate, and provide accurate minutes of governance meetings. I maintain governance records, update the Board on membership and signpost Governors to learning and development opportunities. The Governing Board at Hindley JI are warm, welcoming and professional - providing support to them is not like work at all!
